Kuzma Community Award
At this year’s Baron Club Awards Dinner, the inaugural Kuzma Community Award was presented to the family that bears the award’s name. In the 1950s, the legendary coach Hank Kuzma brought national recognition to the Baron basketball team and later served Franciscan University as alumni director and in fundraising positions. His wife, Kay (McCann ’55) Kuzma, raised their four children, taught elementary school for 38 years, and was deeply involved in pro-life activities throughout the Ohio Valley.
In subsequent years, the award will honor a local family for their devotion to the local community and to the University.
